Chichester's Village Green

Welcome to the Priory Park website!

Priory Park has been described as the “jewel in the crown” of Chichester. It is a precious open space, administered and maintained by Chichester District Council and enjoyed by thousands of people every year. It is the venue for cricket, football and bowls as well as being a spot where families, friends and individuals can peacefully relax. And they can enjoy many other occasional celebrations such as the Chichester Gala, open air film screenings and a lot more.

The Priory Park Society is an active group of people who use, or simply care about the park and wish to support, collaborate with – and sometimes challenge – the council’s plans. With the impending changes to local government it is vital that the users of the park have a say in its future and the way in which it is used. Two years ago, we provided a defibrillator for the park and are always looking for projects through which we can make a contribution to its fabric and upkeep.

The Priory Park Society is made up of people who bring a wide cross section of professional experience, as well as other gifts, and our meetings are also attended by councillors and others who represent both City and District councils.

Please come and join us! We would love to meet you.
Bruce Ruddock
Chairman, The Priory Park Society.
